I think it is a good deal, two sets of sails, colored and white, a mast, rudders, a whole bunch of other parts for $1300.00... I realize you can buy an old used boat for that much but those parts are quite a package and for someone who has a prindle that needs them it could be a good value. I know I wish I had a second set of nice colored sails for my Nacra 5.2 and pricing new ones leaves a bit of sticker shock.... Also having a spare mast would not bother me at all... And of course that is just what they are ASKING for the stuff...peace

Pete,
I actually have 2 sets of spare 5.2 sails if you are looking for them. I have one set of white Skip Elliots from 1981, still decent with a few small defects. And a set of red/white sails made by a local tarp maker here, almost brand new (3-4 sails on them) but VERY flat, they work but aren't great - I beat the jib up a little bit while I was learning. Haven't figured a price yet, likely around $200 per set.

Wolfdude,
What do you mean by flat? My jib and mainsail are in decent shape but they are pretty old and the zipper on the jib has a couple fragile spots on it. Plus they are your basic white. I kinda sold my wife on the whole catamaran idea with pictures and videos of nice hobies with rainbow sails and wound up with a nice boat but clean white tee sails. I know I can paint them or dye them or whatever but I would like to have a spare set in case I screw it up I suppose. I am thinking blue, black, and white would be pretty nice. The red and white sails on your avatar look nice but I am not Canadian...haha
I guess a nice set of sails with preferably a WINDOW on the bottom of the mainsail would be pretty nice to have but I imagine probably about a grand or more to buy new. -

The rudders alone are $450/ea at Murray's and the centerboards arent much less. I'd offer $500 just for the daggers and centerboards that would leave him with 800 to get for two sets of sails @ ~$350/set, a mast, and a boom($400 retail).
I'd have a hard time not buying that stuff if he was 300 miles closer.. -

Hobie 20 in Eugene, OR. $4500. Looks like it's in pretty good shape from the pictures. It's been posted for awhile so the price may be a little more flexible http://portland.craigslis…/mlt/boa/2558298143.html

Found another cool one in Eugene, OR. 19' Sport/Race "P-Cat" Pacific Catamaran, FAST - $2550 (Eugene near 1-5) http://eugene.craigslist.org/boa/2502754519.html
Looks like a neat concept but not sure about having a glassed in cabin area rather than a tramp. $2550 for an adventure into the unknown...

Check it out, I can't post the link because I scooped these up already and it will probably be gone soon but a guy in holland michigan was GIVING away the following for a Hobie 14
Mast in good shape with mast head and all hardware and stays
Boom, all hardware
Tiller assembly, everything but rudders
Trampoline frame with vinyl trampoline (tramp in 6 out of 10 condition) with traveler and cleat on frame
I'm using the mast, boom, stays for a custom built mono that i am restoring, some of you cat guys might cringe at that but for free its better than restoring the old mast and doing a lot of retrofitting to update, if any of you are interested in the rest, let me know

The add says 25-30 knots hull speed in ideal conditions... can a P-Cat actually pull that?

Probably... with a 50HP Honda outboard attached to the rear beam! I think the seller may be boasting a little about his pride and joy. I think the specs for that boat post it at around 500lb, so with a hull length of 19' i would think he'd be hard pressed to push it much passed 25 knots without doing some damage to the rigging. That's even if 25knots is technically possible with the boats max sail area, waterline, hull shape, and lets not forget the skippers boat handling skill. He probably meant MPH which would be a little more plausible.
