The carpet material has disappeared from one of the cradles on my cat trax. Is there a preferred material to use on them?

We are using a rubberized foam pad. When the pad gets slightly wet, the boat sticks to the cradles so that we don't have to tie the boat to the wheels. Once the boat is in the water, the cradles slide off the hulls quite easily. Our cradles were modified to conform exactly to hull shape to maximize the hull pad contact. -

Where would you find foam padding?

try indoor-outdoor carpet from menards. on sale a 5x9 roll was $10. it has a rubbery backing that makes it work great with contact cement.
this carpet also works well inside a daggerboard trunk to provide friction. a little bit at the front and rear works well. don't make the mistake i did and line the trunk all the way around the top and bottom cause you'll never be able to move the daggerboard!

I was able to locate the rubberized foam. Try Jill Nickerson from Fun in the Sun at http://www.funinthesunweb.com. That is where I was able to purchase it although I cannot remember the cost. -

Go to Walmart and buy the cheap Walmart camp pad made of closed cell foam. This is stuff is durable in the elements and can be easily cut to shape and size you need. less than $10

Thanks, I like $10 solutions. I ended up finding the carpet thAt was on my cradle and reattached it with contact cement. The cradles on my tailor are getting worn, so I might try the foam on those in the future.
