Prindle 18-2 boom shape  Bottom

  • I just bought a 1987 Prindle 18-2. It has an unsubstantial-looking rectangular boom, not a teardrop or eliptical extrusion. Does that sound like original equipment? Thanks for any help.
  • It is probably the original, but hardly unsubstantial. Posting a picture will help.
It should also have a 4:1 internal outhaul car, a clamcleat for the mast rotation control, a single bale for mainsheet blocks and stainless steel hardware for connection to the mast.
The Prindle 18-2 and the 19 use the same boom. Later NACRAs (that use a boom) moved to a square one as well.
