Does anybody have a clear explanation of the mast rotator on a Nacra I-18? Don't say see the manual because it gives very little info and might as well have been written in swahilli! What happens to the lines when they go through the trap holes?? where do the ends terminate? any good pictures?? Thanks in advance.

The line goes through the hole in the tramp. Then there should be a turning block mounted to the beam under the tramp. Then out to the hull.
There should be a cam cleat either attached to the hull near the main beam where the tramp meets the hull or on the main beam on either side of the boat. There is a Pic in the manual but it's a close up of the cleat. Then the end of the line either goes in the beam attached to a bungee inside or to the crew trap along with the downhaul.
What I have done is use a piece of 3mm amsteel with an eye on either end for the part of the rotator line that attaches to the boom. Using a small block with a removable sheave, hook the two eyes together. Using a separate line go from the beam, through the cleat, through the turning block, hole in tramp and block connected to the amsteel, through the hole in the tramp, turning block and cleat. When you want to disconnect the rotator, just take apart the small block and the lines stay in place.
