I've got my eye on a 06 getaway that a guy is asking almost 5grand for... I only have 3grand in my budget.... What is a good price on a used getaway that is six years old? Its in good condition and doesn't need work.

Getaways still bring a pretty good price if they are in good shape. I see some for less than 5 and some for more. They are a newer style boat and are not fiberglass but molded plastic. They are pretty tuff and I hear very comfortable. They are more of a cruising/family boat with nice wing seats and big front tramp and coolers built into the hulls.
There are boats that provide a lot more performance well within your price range. And old NACRA, PRINDLE or HOBIE will likely give you a faster funner ride. However if you want to load the boat up with lots of folks and have a sailing party the Getaway would be great for it. If I could afford to have my choice of multiple boats in my fleet I would likely have at least one Getaway probably for family reunion type outings to load kids on an have a good time.
