Thanks Ron!
Man, the sailing community is fired up! Three folks have already registered and I didn't even get to POST the NOR yet... ( built the race in regattanetwork, but didn't advertise yet until I could nail down some details... but folks found it and registered anyway! whoo hoo... that's good problems to have! )
Anyway, we're squared away now: Here's the NOR:
http://www.osyc.com/filemanager_uploads_files/2012_IH_NOR.pdf
And in the NOR is a link to register!
Sail on!
Apparently from back in days of old the race was simply called "Island Hop", and we called it that last year in an effort to go back to some roots... so this year you'll also find it simply called "Island Hop".
Cheers! -Rob. fleetcaptain@osyc.com -

It's not to late to get in on this one! Looks to be a great weekend with steady breezes. I had a great practice sail today, the "casino row" part of the channel was really cool, very flat water and winds from the south made it feel like a skating rink, boat just gliding along and accelerating on each gust.
There is a change this year, we sail around Deer Island on Saturday instead of Sunday because of a really big power boat party taking place right in our Deer Island path near the casinos. So we go around Deer Saturday and then directly out to Horn Island (looks to be a one tack close reach) and back on Sunday.

this might just be divine-e-nough intervention for me to make it...the horn island in-and-out reach is my favorite kind of day too...wheels are turning...sunday is a definite mayby, possibly.
casino row is a kick! up tight to the island the water gets glassy, i love blowing by those boats...love me some secret spot sailing!

Bill today was PERFECT!.... AWESOME reach all along the casino row... one tack south to channel marker 2... then a FAST reach all along the south end of Deer Island down out to where the old range marker used to be... foot off, gybe the main around and you're on one deep run back to the club.... almost ever leg of the race was a point to point race.... and fast... great wind, that's all I can say.
Not sure the course tomorrow... but I'd STRONGLY recommend NOT going to the secret spot because there's going to be about 8 or 10,000 people (yes thousands...) on Deer and in the channel tomorrow for a big boaters rendezvous party... word is you can WALK to deer island there's so many boats rafted up.
If you got time, come on down... leave the boat and come back and sail on the 4th.... I'm going to be taking folks for rides on the 4th, just to try and show them what it's like....
