What a day. Just purchased 1983 Hobie 18. Took a bit to rig, much more complicated than I remember the rigging being for the H16, but well worth it. Sailed with only the main today, hopefully with one of my daughters as crew we can begin with the jib tomorrow.
I have read many of the post over this summer, thanks for all the advice. Look forward to a great time on the water as the summer comes to an end

You post hit a chord with me. Next week I am racing my cat for the first time in 21 years off the coast of California.
I have been training for a year since I discovered the race, and shaking down the boat for the first time after so long felt great. It also brought back a lot of memories, though some I would have preferred stay forgotten. :)
So I'm glad that you have re-captured the feel for balancing the power of the wind & water, and set your own course.
