My adjustment screws for my I17 rudders are corroded in the casting, to a degree that I think I'll break them if I try to adjust them. So the rest of this is a bit hypothetical..
I need to rake my rudders back a touch. The feel like they want to pop off of center when they get a little loaded, like they're swept too far under the boat. Also, I can see a little wear on them where it looks like they've hit the transoms when being locked down.
However, even if I could move the adjustment bolts, it appears that they are tightened all the way already. Loosening them would increase the distance at the top of the rudder, and therefore sweep them even more.
How can I rake the back a bit?

First time I heard this I was skeptical, but use Snobol to get it loose. Time and Snobol are your friend. Make sure to grease them when you put them back together.
