One of the bridal tangs on my Dart 20 has 1 of the 3 screws stripped out. It looks like the internal backing nut or plate is not there for that screw. There is no access to this part of the bow. I was thinking of using a ss rivet rather than cutting the deck or drilling through to the other side and using a backing washer and nylock nut. Any better ideas??
Thanks

Sounds Ok to me. I just had a bridle tang pull out 6" (boat got home) on a 40 year old Tornado. It was a diagonal tang rivited to a diagonal strip of glass. Put in a 4" deck hatch, drilled out the rivits & replaced with 1/4" bolts. Pete -

if there is no backing plate or washer what is the stainless rivet going to flare out into/
if just bare glass it will smash it up and make the hole bigger...
i'd check again more carefully before putting in very hard stainless rivet
if there is nothing there why not a softer alloy river and simply keep and eye on it
