Hi there, I'm new here. So a big hello to everyone.
I have recently bought a 5.2, and will be opening up the decks on both hulls, fore and aft to do checks and any glass repair i find. Has anyone added any bulk heads to help with the hull structure? or Is there any places in the hulls i might want too add additional bulk heads, too help this old girl live a much longer life.

hi keith, yes people have put bulkheads in...there were pics on the web somewhere of an australian 5.8? that got new bulkheads
once bow decks are off also be sure to check the stringers are firmly attached to the hull, these were laid-up over cardboard tubes which may have absorbed too much resin as bow stringers have occasionally detached, leading to hulls snapping off at the main beam

Hi Eric,
Thanks, i will be carefully checking everything i can inside once the decks are off, and repairing anything i find lose, cracked or de-laminated. I would like to add a few dyvini cell foam core bulkheads as well, but am a little concerned about placing them in the wrong locations and creating a potential problem. -

i can't really think of a bad place to add a bulkhead...
best would probably be about half way along the bow to help keep the stringers in place and bonded
