Ok, I need to replace my Halyard can anyone recommend the correct diameter and type of line to use?

Ideally, 3/16" of "quality" double braid to minimize stretch. Low stretch single braid will work also.

Like Philip said, decent quality 3/16" polyester double braid is fine. I use sta-set (with something much higher quality for the spin halyard.)
Once the main is hoisted, the halyard bears no load, so no reason to go overboard on it.

Thanks purchased the following for $20 will rig this weekend see how it does?
3/16" (5mm) x 75 feet of Double Braid Polyester (Dacron) Line
Uses: Mainsheets, Halyards, Jibsheets, Control Lines, Tie-down rope, Utility Cord
