Hey guys
Do you have ventilation holes in your cat boxes? If so how big, how many and where are they located on the box? I am re glassing an old one and I don't see any "intentional" ventilation holes, just curious what would be best in the South. Boat and trailer will be parked in the yard under a tarp.
Thanks

I think if you have a box that is otherwise air-tight it would be wise to have vents to allow contents to dry. Just make sure that they don't allow rain in and have screens to keep the critters out.

Had some in an old box- one small one each in front and back panels.
Glassed them over after the glued screen inside came off and let all kinds of bugs, bees and other vermin into the box one memorable spring.
No vents at all on current box.

best catbox design i have seen use very small downward facing vents (think of small ac vents with fixed slots) that were glassed into the box, and screened with very tight mesh to keep the smallest of aphids and other bugs out of your sails
one fore, one aft

Put them on the sides. the front will get water in it when trailering and so will the rear. About 3 inch with tight screen and down facing vents. I bet McMastercarr has them. HTH, Ricardo.

Lowes, Menards, HD make a aluminum 2" attic vent. Louvers with screen. Drill a 2" hole and press them in. I think I bought six of them for under $20. -
