My wife came up with this ingenious way of keep our cell phones safe and dry on the boat. We put them in plastic mayonnaise jars. Here is a picture.

Best way for me to keep phone dry is to leave it in the truck. Lost 5 androids in past year. When you pitch pole even strapped in water proof stuff breaks. I like your idea with my luck. Phone would be dry washing up on. Cancun beach in 6 months
