Recently made a nice haul of Spanish Mackeral from my 16 Hobie. Tossed back a lot of chopper blues too.
Anybody else fish on their cat?

I have considered it. I decided i don't like swimming with all my gear and hooks.

Nice catch! Do you sail and troll, or stop and drop sail to anchor?
By the way, I fixed the photo, the problem is that the IMG code they give you at Photobucket to copy and paste doesn't work here, probably because they try to link the images back to their site, and that conflicts with the automatic resizing and disply of the pictures here.
If you look at their code, you can just use the part from IMG to /IMG (I had to remove the brackets[] from around the tags so they would show up here.)
Back to fishing! I know we have at least one impressive Hobie 16 sailor/fisherman here, hopefully grayton_sailor is still around and hasn't been eaton by one of his catches.
Take a look at this topic.

I've trolled with my Hobie 16. Use some PVC pipe tied to the corner casings for rod holders. I rig a 3way swivel with a short leg and a Clark spoon and a long leg with a 2 oz Diamond Jig. The first few times I just used 80lb mono leader. We were off Stump Pass when the rod bent over and took drag for a few yards, then it went slack. When I reeled it in the diamond jig was gone. I have since added a short piece of steel leader. I assume it was a King Mackeral. As this is a very toothy critter, I would have kept it in the water and drug it home.
Try Cabella's for a fish bag.
