The summer is moving away quickly, every weekend is precious.
I know a lot of you won't sail after Labor Day,
That's September 2nd! Only FIVE weekends from now.
How will you use them?

I did, Beer Can racing at the rudder club. Please note the disclaimer on the NOR,
1.4 The name of this series in no way shall be construed as encouraging drinking alcohol beverages during the race or operating any boat or piece of equipment while exceeding the alcohol blood level as prescribed by Florida law.
And being in Jacksonville, Florida, my sailing season is a little longer.

Flight Risk has sold! To Rex Conn, who'll take it to the Chesapeake, where it will serve as his daysailer when the 55' tri is too much to rig! My big boat becomes his little boat.
So last minute repairs needed to be tested before packing her up. Got two after sunset rides in the 12 to 15 that falls off the mountainside as the air cools, enough for some solo hull flying, as I say goodbye to a great friend. Broke her down on Sunday and loaded her on the trailer. I'll be dragging her to MN in a couple of weeks, where Rex's guy will pick her up for the rest of the journey, and I'll head north to Aquarius and pick up a new mast for the ARC 22.
Did squeeze in a great ride aboard the Stealth Saturday afternoon in 15 to 20, for a while with crew who wandered over as I rigged, then solo for a couple of hrs. What a sweet boat!

Gotta a weekend coming up mid August and will be out on Labor Day Weekend. Any thing else is just lucky. Once I get my oldest married off this weekend then I will be in recovery mode and will see what time I have.

got a repair to make so that's first...it has stormed here everyday typical july pattern. the dog days of august are coming, bad time to live in the horse latitudes. no wind, hot, hot hot...then storm. September gets better later and then it's on! October rules...water is still warm, winds are steady, water clearer, sky bluer, waves taller, fish are biting, bugs are gone, etc... camping weather.
we can sail w/out wet suits until thanksgiving-ish. spring and fall are my favorites...really don't do any winter sailing on the cat, unless i'm going florida way. i'll be out soon, even if there ain't no wind! cause we learned to just beach it and hang out good times!

Went out Friday and sailed for about 4 hours. Me on the 5.5 and my buddy on his inter 17. Blowing north and pretty steady 12 to 15 and built to 15 to 20.. Cool day for us on the great plains, usually it is about 100 degrees and it was low 80s.
Saturday we had Committee boat duty for the leaner sailor racers. Good time doing that too upper 70s and still good breeze from the north.
Get out and sail, as Damon said summer is flying by. We do get to sail through late September at Lake Perry Kansas just west of Kansas City. Cheers Ricardo.

sailed fri, sat, sun
friday was around 12 knots and we had 3 cats and a powerboat sitting on an island watching some small storms moving north of us - filled in to about 30knots for an hour... (we went for a power boat ride and continued to wait it out) and went for a nice sail after that -

Yes, Cold and windy sailing on Lake Michigan in a CRAM regatta. 3-5 foot waves, bless the race committee for sitting in that. Sunday racing in Muskegon Lake in the rain and light wind for three races. Special thanks to CRAM as it was 3 years ago that I did a regatta.
I had so much fun I may try to get to one more regatta this year with them. -

Got the freshly restored Sol Cat out last weekend at a local lake. After a painful launch at a rocky shoreline, had a pretty good day under sail.
Even capsized it once, not on purpose Got it righted solo with just a line and the mast head in the wind.
I'll be out again this weekend for sure!

Sale or Sail? Foiling has been going on for many years. A few examples are foiling a cats, the c class (little america's cup). An F18 tiger and more recently, F18 Phantom with stable flight. Vink and company have worked on the Nacra foiling F20 Carbon. As an established class you have the moth.
You can see my happy arse foiling here
