I had Elliot Pattison make me up a set of square tops for it in mylar,, greatly improved the boat speed and light air handling. I sold the 5.7 sails to a guy in Miama
    Florida

rehmboThat red I20 gets around. Saw it at Tradewinds last January sailed by a fellow Michigander. Beautiful boat - the airbrush work on the sides was probably more impressive than the sails.

Someone had the green/yellow variety sails on an Infusion. Pink spin didn't do it for me though. Yuck!

Pink plus green is a poor color combination. All pink would be fine, grow some balls.

That's one of sarasotas club boat. I think we bought it with those sails. But I'm not a fan of the spinnaker

That quote was from SLO It was also from Dacron to Infusion vs a laminate to infusion so that may be the big difference These were quoted for my Capri 22 with 115% headsail

  • I ordered a new set of sails from Elliot Pattison in the purple and red injection DP sail material. Woot. Gonna be a bright colorful new sailing season

  • Let us know what you think of the purple when you get it. I have the green and the red for the two Nacra 5.2's, and I'm going to redo my Nacra 5.8 hulls in bright Canary Yellow gel coat this winter. I am trying to decide if I want a different color sail material on the 5.8, or stick with the green or red.

  • nacraflyer,, sure will. They have changed the color pattern slightly so the original material isn't exactly like the original. But it is a unique to the batch process as they are small runs of material. They asked me for pictures of the sails on the boat in the spring for promo stuff I guess. Should be kewl with my florescent pink spinnaker up. talk about bammmmm effect. I told Ian Elliot I wasn't in a hurry but now I'm like a kid opening gifts on xmas morning wanting to see them

  • I was wanting the Blue Injection sail cloth for my main, however I think I am going for the all black and white look (I still have new NACRA graphics Blue/ black, I can just not put blue on). I have narrowed my search to three sail makers making decision this week.

Jenna thank you, I went from a Hobie wave to my Inter 17. I am very confident now but damn what a jump 2 years ago. icon_biggrin

  • My new Purple/ blue sails are in the Elliot Pattison loft under manufacturer. It is the later/ newer color combo of the DP material. They (DP) will do small runs for the beachcat market. I got pictures of the roll in the loft this past Friday from Ian Elliot. Cant wait to fly them on my Infusion.

  • QuoteI'd like to see more color in our beachcat sails!

Long live color. The grey stuff was nice as a change up for about 6 months then it got really old fast. The problem with these grey sails is they get lost on the water and hard to see. That is a problem if you ever get in trouble way out on the edge where the earth ends and you fall over the edge into oblivion. I hate when that happens

I'm not Jenna but I like mine! This was the thread where I became inspired to get the die infused sails for my Hobie 18, Skip and Ian Elliot went out of there way to get everything just as I wanted, and then spent a lot of time on the phone with my this summer giving tips on sail trim so I'd get the most out of it.

I went from the light grey sails that were nearly invisible on the water to these that can be seen from space. icon_biggrin

  • You guys have chosen great sails, love those EP's!
I truly believe beach cat sails need to be vivid, loud and recognizable from a long distance, not just plain white/grey?
Since I'm a relatively recent Beach cat owner ( 5 years ) I can't tell you how excited I get driving over a bridge or near a beach whilst scanning the ocean/lake/beach and see multicolored sails out on the water. Instantly want to head to the local sail club, buy rounds of beer for everyone and reflect on my personal ear to ear grins from sailing! One day I'll get to try out a brand new sail set but from the race results I've seen, they're worth every penny!
