NC>SF Bay transplant  Bottom

  • Hey folks,
I've been in the San Francisco Bay area for awhile, but just drove out my family's 1981 NACRA 5.2 from Lake Norman, NC. I'm looking to get the boat seaworthy again and out on the bay. It's stashed on a trailer at Alameda Marina at present and I'm just putting the list of repairs and replacement parts needed to get her back into shape.

I'm looking for good fiberglass repair recommendations for a boatyard with experience in older cats. I've got a crack just under front crossbar on the inside of the starboard full. It looks like something dropped on the crossbar or pushed the hull up and in, creating a horizontal pressure crack.

A bit about me: I grew up sailing this boat on Lake Norman and on the NC Outer Banks and psyched to get back out. I've been doing a bit of keelboat and dinghy sailing on the bay, mostly out of Richmond YC. The boat is in Alameda, but my long-term plan is to get it to Treasure Island. It's better access from my house in SF and better sailing access to the main bay.

If you are in the area or just want to connect, drop me a line or email.
