Hobie 20 mast rake

How do I measure mask rake on my H20. Hobie tuning guide talks about rake of 7 to 10 inches. That does not make sense, used to rake numbers measured from the top of the mast to some point on the transom. Hopefully someone here is in the know. Ryan -

Level the hulls & use a trap line as a plumb...
