Cool video shot from a hover drone shows how hard it can be for even expert sailors to get off the beach in light air.
The wind was coming from pretty much where they wanted to go, most elected to start on starboard tack to head North but that required really pinching up in the surf while the boards were still up. Tough combination.
Watch till the end and you'll see how tough it got and also how this is where Key Sailing on the Carbon 20 was able to out-point the fleet and clear the surf long before anyone else and ended up over the horizon.

Agreed on painful but I was referring to the drone and the quality of the video. Not to often do we see a birds eye view!
