I ran across two unrelated reports of catamarans having to be rescued, one in North Carolina and the other in Michigan.
Details are scarce but it appears in both cases the sailors were reasonably suited up and in one case had emergency locators and the other had a "float plan" that consisted of the wife watching from shore. So both were rescued successfully but it appears both boats were lost or heavily damaged. One was listed as "sinking" and the other was heavily damaged while attempting to tow it to shore bad conditions.

Glad that we have some non-fatal reminders this time of year to make sure someone knows when you are supposed to be back, to dress for current and possible conditions, and to have on board some way to let people know you are in trouble if the worst happens.
Anyone know these guys?
