Nacra 5.7 rigging  Bottom

  • I recently acquired a Nacra 5.7 and have a couple questions. On either end of the front cross beam there are internal mounted blocks with external cam cleats. I suspect they are for the barber hauler but cannot figure out how they function. Any help is appreciatedhttp://thebeachcats.com/pictures?g2_itemId=111607

  • The barber hauler pulls the job more outward so out can adjust the shape and slot between the jib and mainsail. Most often used going downwind. I have rigging for both my boats but don't often rig or use them. I imagine they become more important when racing. Anyway here is a pic of my rig. The orange rope is the barber hauler. http://www.thebeachcats.c…pictures?g2_itemId=74488

On your 5.7 the blocks and cleats are more likely fir the most rotation system to attach to the wishbone on the mast and over rotate it. Again it really isn't needed unless you are racing and even then. I've never rigged mine, and if you over rotate the mast and forget to uncleat it you can damage your mast. I don't think it's worth the hassle.
