What do you sail and where do you put in. Just trying to put together some group sailing for this season.
Thanks

You may want to consider hooking up with Hobie Fleet 54 or Hobie Division 11. Even if you're not interested in racing, there are some folks in your area that have sailed Hobies for decades and should be able to set you in the right direction. If you are interested in racing, the Division has several regattas your area (Gunpowder State Park in the Spring, Rock Hall Yacht Club in the Fall). It's a good way to meet and sail with other sailors and we're always happy to have new sailors join the group. You could also contact the CRAC group.

We have a group that sails at various launch points on, the Potomac, the Rappahannock, and the middle bay. We are trailer sailors and usually do day long outings, sailing to a destination and back. A typical day is 30-50 miles of sailing. We have 5 Supercats, a couple of Prindles, several G-cats and occasionally a Hobie. Contact me or gahamby (on this forum privately) if you want more info. Our first sail is usually in March and we sail all the way into December.

You can also met lots of local cat sailors at the Rappahannock River Regatta. This year the R.R.R. is in August. It is usually listed on this site in the events.

They don't look that active and since hardly anyone responded here, I doubt too many sail cats around here. When I'm out in the laser I don't see cats.. Then again, I'm not launching from multiple places where there might be cats. I know there is a cat club in Galesville MD but I don't think they take Hobies. There's F18's there, the last time I was there last fall.

West River Sailing Club in Galesville, MD, has an active fleet of F16's, A-Cat's and F18's/N20's. We have about 4 F18's and 5 N20's. All beach cats are welcome to join and come sail with us, though the courses tend to be more pleasant for spin boats. -

The Galesville scene has two components - the West River Sailing Club which is a OD fleet based outfit with a clubhouse and everything, hosting one design racing for A-Cats, Nacra-20s/F-18s, and F-16s. The West River Catamaran Racing Association (WRCRA) is a group that runs Tuesday night open class catamaran races. When Fall comes we switch to Sundays for Frostbite. Bring whatever you got, we score everybody together using SCHRS. Most (but not all) WRCRA racers are also WRSC club members. http://www.wrcra.org -

Also, if you're looking for a nice place to beach launch, Sandy Point State Park near the Bay Bridge is pretty good. -
