A friend and I are trying to build a tilt trailer for his supercat 20. I think looking at one would help a lot, you can only learn so much from pictures. Would like to look at one for a Supercat 20 but even one for a Tornado or Solcat 20 would help I'm sure. Happy to buy lunch, beer etc for a glance. We live on the Big Bend of Florida but always looking to road trip. -

Some tilt trailers only have one bolt holding the two halves together. One day driving down the road the bolt came out. The two halves separated. Part of the back half dug/caught part of the road way which caused the wheels to lift off the ground and twist. Luckily no real damage to his cat. He found some tree limbs in a field and lashed them to the trailer and was back on his way. He was crazy he made the next two regattas with the limbs holding the trailer together. I think the only reason he fixed the trailer was everybody giving him crap about his trailer.

Here is one of the prettyist tilt trailers I've seen.

Do a search in the photo albums for tilt trailer there are quite a few examples, including a really cool one that carried the boat upside down and placed it beside the trailer on the ground when operated.

They are almost all designed and built by the owners so no two are exactly the same. During the heyday of Tornados and 18 Squares there were probably some commercial ones available but long gone.
Be sure and document your build with photos to help the next guy out. With all the foiling boats and new wide boats tilt trailers may be making a comeback.
