Just got official word that the Great Texas 300 will start on Thursday June 18th rather than Wednesday June 17th as scheduled because Tropical Storm Bill is making landfall right in the course of the race.
Bill made it's Texas landfall right at Matagorda Island which happens to be the second stop of the GT300 course.
To keep the finish on Saturday the last two (shorter) legs will be combined into one.

The GT300 is starting this morning after the rain delay. If you're interested in following the race, live tracking is available at:
http://kws.kattack.com/GEPlayer/GMPosDisplay.aspx?FeedID=1438
The tracks are supposed to update every two minutes, so we should have a pretty clear picture of how the race is progressing.

Looks like everyone is moving well with Tomko (Team Lupe Tortilla) in the lead. Nice that they were able to get the new satellite trackers.
How was the surf this morning after Bill passed by?
