That's not a Nacra stern.
Not a Hobie deck.
Not a Prindle bow.
Got more pics?
Is there a Hull ID number?

Here's my thinking.
That bow looks Nacra-ish not many boats have that straight blunt bow.
I thought Matrix but the pics in the gallery show no boards and a partial skeg looking thing.
None of the Super Cats, Hobies or Prindles have that bow.
The boards look like sol cat or nacra. Mystere boats are skeg or centerboard.
That stern is finished, early nacras weren't. It's also slanted. The deck is too rounded for a Nacra.
No lip on the deck rules out Sol-Cat.

I believe it is a Freestyle 474. They have flat sterns, boards that look just like those, but most telling, is the deep indent the beams sit in, & the rounded decks. They also have the flat bows of a Nacra.
If you can get a front view, there is no dolphin striker.
There have been several of them for sale up here in the last year. I almost bought one back in 2010. I think I had a thread on ID'ing it.
My notes show the HIN# to start with GSN.

Edchris, yup looks like you know your boats man.Definitly easier to get info with a name!Looks like they were 16 ft long the seller said 18. I suspect the Prindle 16 is a faster boat with more sail area so I think I will stick with the P

I would not be to quick to discard it, based only on sail area.
I did quite a bit of research, & would have bought one, had it been in better shape.
The boats are light, fast, & easily righted.
In fact, I never came a cross a bad comment from owners. One guy broke a mast, but that was with 4 people,(600lb) IIRC hanging off the wire, I think he may have had a kite up too.
The symmetrical hulls are much better in the rough water, IMO.
If everything is in good shape, & the price is right, grab it. I think they would be a joy to sail, & you can always sell it again.

I owned one when I was a teen, and I was able to beat P 15s, and correct out over most of the other single handed cats. Mine only had a boomless main, but I would sail her with up to 400 lbs of crew weight. It was manufactured by Boston Whaler and there is still one sailing here at Cheney every once in a while that the owner says he bought new. It sailed like a Nacra, and those boards really help to weather. Great bouyancy for driving in heavy air. I thought it was a great boat.

Do you know anyone up here, or Northern US, who might be headed south for the winter?
It's a stone throw from Sarnia/Detroit
This Freestyle could probably be bought cheap.
