Hi can anyone tell me where I can get a detailed look at the way the rudders are rigged on a p16. I purchased the 16 and need to figure out how the lines run through all the pulleys on the rudders. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -

Great pics of the lines are here in the technical photos section of this site:

It can work pretty well, but you need to be sure nothing is bent, the bolt that the rudder spins on is snug and the locking bolt is not worn down. 1/4" line is too big, 3/16" is much better. I use 2 mm line, but you will need a tapered line for the rudder lift, as 2mm won't hold in the jamb cleat. I think most boats use 3/16"
Good luck!

I just did a complete rebuild on mine. I swapped out the old standard bolts for M5 SS with cap heads. Rather than use the cheap acrylic sheaves, I ordered some pulley bearing roller wheels with fantastic ss bearings - 10 for $12. (here)

they fit perfectly on the M5 bolts.
I also used a whole bunch of nylon washers and ss nylocks to ensure the whole assembly moves smoothly and doesn't bind up or cause undue Fe/Al electrolysis.
Good luck with your rebuild.

Thanks so much for the help those pics are perfect. Dave was wondering what kind of nylon washers did you use and where did you buy them. Would love to see a pic of it done.
