A family friend once attended a sailing class way back in 1985 and over the weekend he passed along all of the information pertaining to the class he took. Included with the paperwork is a copy of "Royce's Sailing Illustrated" and is the 8th revised edition. It says on the cover that it's "the sailors bible since '56". This looks like a great book and I plan on reading it over the winter. I think it's a great gift and one that I can use for sure!!!! Anyone else have this book?

I was given Royce's as a textbook to a sailing course I took in the late 70s, which inspired me to buy my first Prindle. It is a very good reference for generalized sailing, and my paperback copy is fairly worn from good use.

This was also the textbook for the sailing class as well.
