I just purchased an 07 getaway and I desired to share my experience so newbie hobie cat buyers may know what to expect. At firts I had my eye on a wave and I contacted a Fl dealer the one who seems to advertise the most, at first the man seem to be interested in selling me a cat, at this point I was not sure about dishing out 5 or 6 k for an experiment so I ask the dealer about financing and that was the end of this dealers interest in selling me a boat, it just ignored my inquiry.
This treatment did not make me feel very confident about buying from a dealer, do they have such demmand for their boats that they can afford to simply ignore buyers that want or need financing? hmmm!
Any how yesterday I went down to Miami cats in Key Biscayne where Jacques the owner has a bunch of cats waves an getaway's there was one 07 getaway very recently assembled I mean this boat looks like it's never been wet, I was looking at the boat and Jacques ask me if I would like to rent one, I told him no I want to buy this new one he said sure I'll sale it to you I asked how much he replied 5500 I pulled out my check book and wrote him a check, jacques is delivering the boat to me first thing monday morning. Jacques owns Miami catamaran, an honest and very pleasant gentleman to deal with.

The Getaway is a great little boat, I've been eyeing the one at work for quite a while now for a good messing about boat! You really can't beat the plastic Hobies!
Congrats! -

There are a few Hobie dealers in Fl, just go to the Hobie website and look-up dealers in your area. I had a similar experience with a dealer. They listed a Boom Kit for a Bravo at a price that was less than list. I called, verified the price and ordered one, when the invoice came in it was list price plus tax and shipping. When I called to discuss they were very arrogant on the phone. Needless to say I didn't buy it.
I went on-line to purchase from another dealer and he said that since there was a Hobie dealer in my area, he couldn't sell to me because of the terms in his contract with Hobie. -

Gentleman I thank you all very much for your responses, and also I would like to ask to please excuse my english as I speak and write 3 other languages going thru the italian public school system and being a graduate of Universita Di Roma did not do much for my english composition and spelling skills, on line I've been asked if I'm third grade or somethind. Any how yes I would say that arrogance is a very good word to describe this attitude. this guy is up north in the FL pan handle not the one advertizing here on this site. my suggestion is stay away.
