I'm sorry, but this is the only photo I have, and it doesn't provide much detail.
I was told this boat is abandoned on a beach about 5 hours away from where I live. It's not a Hobie 18, so I don't think there are many parts that I might salvage. Just wanted to now if it would be worth the journey to see if there is anything of value.
I'm thinking a Hobie 16, anyone else care to guess as to what it might be?

Can you identify this cat?

Do I see a jib and furler and home-made cat trax? I have no ideal if this is abandoned. It looks like it got rolled onto the beach, perhaps by wind, and tipped in the tidal zone. My guess is the owner is unaware of this. The hulls are in good shape, and much of the boat is intact as though the owner took down the main and boom and left it tied in the weeds. Of course it could have blown to this location from anywhere. The fact the wheels are there, suggests it belongs just uphill.

I concur, Hobie 16 it is. I don't think it is abandoned though.
That sure is some dark sand, I am used to the sugary white sand we have here on the Gulf Coast.

I just uploaded a couple of pictures into my photo album of an abandoned Prindle 16 that is on a beach where we vacation. I have been taking pictures of this boat every year for several years now. I asked about it also and was told it was left there and had a hole in the starboard hull and it had become part of the island now. If you view the pics you will see what I mean. Sea Oats have been planted around it now and therefore it is in a protected area and cannot be disturbed. I don't know how to load pics here from my phone so if anyone wants to load a pic of it here from my album, feel free.
