I spoke with the owner - nice guy 81 year old sailor - sailed lots of wooden cats (sheerwaters and others)
He worked as a car designer making cars molds out of clay at Chrysler in the 50's, and was friends with someone on the Chrysler Boat division - and ended being offered a cat in a shipping container that was just sitting in Chrysler warehouse containing this boat with different 2 mast set up
It contains 2 sails: #2 and #3 (so it could be boat #2 or #3 out of a 3 boat prototype build)
He and his son sailed and raced it - killed it against the hobies :)
great boat, beautiful "vintage" hardware -
If it was actually $100 - i was gonna buy it on the spot and ask if i could pay him to ship me the rudders and some other stuff and would get the rest somehow - :)
He was really excited to learn about other mystere cats in america
he was sharp as a tack but his knowledge of the history didn't seem to be corroborable
