Regarding the board is it possible to make a mold with the existing board and make a new glass or glass and carbon fiber board in the mold. Does anyone have any experience with this.

Seriously, before you consider anything else contact this guy: https://www.thebeachcats.com/profile/view/pbegle
Unless you have a lot of experience, making a mold, inserting reinforcing foam material and getting a result that would stand up to the lateral forces of sailing is not likely and would cost more than any other alternative.

ive seen it attempted multiple times . once by a sailing shop owner who has built boats, and 2 rental shack owners
every time the foil failed in med-heavy air
we do sail with a retired composite engeneer who has the ultimate man cave/epoxy workshop and has all the toys (vacumes, kilns, all the tools you could want ... air conditioning!!!!
he designed 1 new rudder to test his theories on it - it's very nice
it took so much work, i he never made another one to match it (yet)
it can be done but requires real expertise or lots of luck -

So, I reinspected the boat and have decided to buy it today ($100 Boat and Trainer with awsome cat box), I think I may have found a daggerboard and and have a lead on a decent mainsail. I do still need to find or build a new mainsheet and suspect the factory is 1:8 but Is there any use in going with a 1:9 in a boomless cat like this?
The standing rigging is flawless and looks like it was replaced at some point, mast is straight ZERO wear or repairs on the bottom of the hull and the gudgen area is factory fresh. The hulls and decks are firm and flawless, the tramp is well... untrustworthy and will be replaced (Are bias cuts good?) Rudders and pivots are perfect.
I am excited and will post pics soon if anyone cares

Pete Begle is a stand up guy, he has sold parts here for years, I have NEVER heard a bad word from anyone who dealt with him. He is an ex Prindle dealer, & currently has a business of used Cat parts. I do not think he would misrepresent whatever he sells you. He often advertises mainsheet setups, he may have just what you need, with sheet.
Another good contact on this site is Dan Berger. he also collects wrecked Cats & parts them out. I can personally vouch that if the part shows up not as advertised, he will refund, no questions asked.

Bias cut is great once tensioned, and as I said above, SLO is making some nice stuff very close to OEM.

afvenom,
i have two used daggerboards remaining from when i sailed N5.8's. they need some work.
let me know if you still need 1, but i'd prefer to sell both of them at the same time.
send me a Private Message (P.M.) and include an email address in the P.M. if interested and i can send you some photos.
