Measures 02-05 Nacra F18 mast  Bottom

  • Hi,
Moving the hardware from my present 5.5 mast to a longer mast tube to fit a mainsail from a 02-05 Nacra F18. Is it by any chance anyone here who have the measures? The following is needed, measured from top to bottom, with reference to the underside of the upper measurement band:

    Mast hook
    Mast hound
    Upper diamond tang
    Spreader
    Lower diamond tang
    Gooseneck
    End of tube
Top of beam(should be max 9100mm)

I have studied the F18 rules but there are only a few max measurements.

  • My mystere 5.5 is 30'
    f18 is 30'
(mystere 5.5 also had an f18 version with dagger boards called a twister)

    i see a nacra 5.5 uni as 30'
    nacra Nacra 5.5sl as 29'7"

why are you changing masts and hardware? seems to be it should fit fine without mod - give or take an inch

unless you are racing (and your certainly not stock) - who cares about this inch (just my opinion - ymmv)

  • Hi MN3,
Unfortunately the 5.5 mast tube is about 20cm to short. Measured from top of beam up to shackle pin with fully hoisted halyard it is not more than 890cm/29.2ft.

  • ok
  • I would just replicate your current mast (other than the hook) and just let your new tube be 20cm taller.
