I'm thinking that I'll need to look into new sails for the Dart in the near future. The boat is so rare here that I haven't had much luck finding anything on Craigslist. I know that I can have them made locally, but does anyone know if another boat's sails will work on a Dart?

I agree that finding used Dart sails is akin to finding hen's teath. I own 4 Darts and a Prindle 18-2, but I much prefer sailing my Dart 18 in the Santa Barbara Channel. I have a Glaser square-top Pentex mainsail with matching jib but you're talking big bucks!!! Most sail lofts can make you a new sail if you send them your old one for measurement purposes. I'll look to see if I have an extra sail that I can let loose. I need to check my inventory to see exactly what I have that can meet your needs. Also, I'm not familiar with sails from other catamarans that might work on your Dart. Remember, the Dart utilizes a loose-footed mainsail, so there's no boom so you need two holes in your clew plate, one for your mainsheet hook and the forward hole for your mast rorator line. -

i just sent you two emails because i have 2 different used sets of sails for dart 18 ,white(older) in Florida, pink on fire isle ny ,you can see photos of pink sails on my photo album this site. Dart 18 cat i lost to hericane irma was a green cat with pink sails,, price negotiable but shipping may be a big expense -
