How rare is it to come by a pair of the 2nd generation (rounded) P19 rudders ? I've seen discussions on old vs new but have never seen any for sale . A great looking P19 was just posted on the classifieds which is sporting the newer rudders ! -

emmettv,
The rudders are hard to find, as are the extended gudgeons and the tiller extensions needed to bring the tiller crossbar forward to the rear beam. Hopefully HULLFLYER has them all.

Hi Bob ,
Why do simple idea always complicate quickly .. :) you lost me on the tiller extension to bring crossbar more forward . Do the extended gudgeons move the assembly back that much ? -

The extended gudgeons move the rudder aft another two inches-ish to put the rudders in optimal position. The tiller extensions were just longer tubes out of the rudder castings (forward) that made up the difference, bringing the tiller crossbar up into position. I have not tried to sail a Prindle with the tiller bar back that far, so I can't say how it feels.
And I agree. Keeping things simple is a difficult thing to do.

My 6.0 has custom gudgeons the fabricator came up with to get clearance for the custom wings
they are extended behind the transom a few inches on brackets
works well ...
I needed to purchase some new tiller extensions last year and needed to trim them to get it them to fit with the wings
i over cut and ended up taking of about 3 or 4 inches. and probably only needed 2
i really have not had/have any issues nor do i really feel any real difference
