Has anyone used these from Murray's (or another supplier) in lieu of buying new tires? Work well? Also wondering if they'll work on the ribbed variety of cat trax. Thanks!
I had a problem with my tires holding air... I replaced the valve stems as they looked pretty beat up, and put in some Green Slim... worked like magic... Every year I now replace the Schrader valve core..... you can can get all of this stuff at PepBoys for about $10.00
I have bought a couple of sets of inner tubes on ebay for cat trax. Mine are not the ribbed wheels but I don't see that would make a difference. One set of my cat trax tires are so dry rotted cracked they would go flat in a couple of days. Once I tubed them they work great. I only use that set on grass I do not think the tires would hold up to gravel or rocks. Sorry I don't have the size inner tubes I bought.

Agreed. But good luck setting the beads on those soft Nancos. I went to 4 tire shops, who could not or would not do it. Stiff-walled atv tires w/ treads are MUCH easier to set.
You can buy a little time by just inserting tubes. Order them on amazon or from Murray’s. They WILL rot your aluminum rims over time in salt environments, starting with the stems. The cancer can eat the rim walls, BETWEEN the anodized surfaces, spreading in ways you can’t even see.
If your tire sidewalls are already cracking, definitely replace them. They could soon fail under load, and the steel belts can fray and puncture your inner tubes anyway.
I did things the hard way, wrestling new nancos on new rims myself, but the smart play around here was to head to the ATV shop, pour a coffee and watch TV while they mount new treaded tires for ~$50 each.
I have seated all kinds of tires, and use No-mar paste to create a surface that easily slides the tire into the bead. I'm guessing this one needs a fast and short burst of high volume air to set the bead.
Yes, I bought two of that tire from Tires Easy a while back to replace the old treaded style tires on my Cat Trax, that is the right size. $26 would be a great price with free shipping/pickup.
Been looking for a deal like that. But, uh -I get free shipping when i select 2 each. Huh? Nohuhu, you must live somewhere awesome and sunny year round...
