This sat i was sailing with a buddy on a twin mystere 5.5 (same sails and everything)
we went south under 1 bridge and went by the sailing center
we noticed a cool boat rigging and went for a peek
low and behold it was our friend Robbie Daniel on a flying phantom with wing-seats
he asked us to sail upwind and reaching - we tried to keep up . :)
Neat! Fun! Fast

Robbie makes all boats look easy to sail...
Redgear is on their game.

He is the nicest guy too
great ambassador to the sport
I raced against him a few times... always neat to see how well he manages every part of the course -

Both Robbie and Jill are top notch ambassadors to the sport. Took one of their F16/F18 clinics a few years back.

,.. then he sheeted in.
Champ surfer John John Florence has a new flying phantom at our club. He took it out for its maiden flight w/ a gaggle of photo chase boats and a few local sailors in tow.
I didn’t bother following them, cuz I didn’t want to be immortalized as the “poster child” of slow boats.

Enjoyable video, thx 4 posting. The fast boat looks great, but so does just cruising the warm, blue-green waters in style.
