Boat Cover  Bottom

  • Hey Guys,

I have a prindle 19 which came with a boat cover, it was made for when the mast is down but since I store the boat with the mast up I cut it up so it would work. My problem now is where I cut it I need to be able to hold the two pieces of the cut together, I tried velcro but the sticky back of the velcro doesn't stick to the canvas well. I see that there is a velcro glue out there that may work. I don't think I want to get it sewn up, looking for an easier solution. Also some of the velcro came off and stuck to the hull, the sticky sticks very well to the hull, does anyone know if like acetone is safe to put on the hulls or not to get it off?

    Thanks,
    Pete
  • Pete,
Acetone is fine on the hulls, wear gloves and don't breath the vapors.
As for the boat cover, you will need to get velcro (non adhesive type) sewn on to the cover. Another option is to buy a grommet kit and lace it up. Hope this helps.
