tying in jib battens  Bottom

  • Hey all,
None of my jib battens have leech caps - are they supposed to? Some of them don't have luff caps either. One or two do. I've done some internet searching but I'm not sure what the right way to secure the battens in the jib is supposed to be.

  • there are two styles of jib batten attachment for the Hobie 16. The most common version uses a batten cap on the jib batten to hold the batten in and control the tension on the jib batten. You can purchase batten caps from any Hobie dealer. On newer boats in Europe there is a velcro strip that holds the batten in the jib. The velcro strip uses a push pin to insert the batten and the velcro holds it in.
