One thing I focused on when racing with my Blind Sailing teams is learning how to stop the boat and hold it where you want it. This can help in starts, docking, crew recovery, or just getting the boat to stop when you want it to. It sounds easy, but wait until you try it. If you can use a buoy, or a crab trap, try to stop the boat and keep the buoy/ball in between the hulls.
I would also recommend to learn how to back up. similar reasons.
