So, I made a sail bag with a full length zipper and mesh ends.
Around the bottom of the bag, I sewed on a total of 6 straps with D rings on them. Then I made 6 straps with snap clips on either side to hang it on the mast. Also I put a couple of D rings on the bottom of each end. The picture below shows the front of the bag. I bolted on a fixed strap that I clip the bag to.
Here is the back, with a blue cam strap pulling back to the aft mast support. Not sure if this will be the final configuration or not. The back can still flop around a bit, whereas the short leash of the front fixed strap keeps it stable.
Two of the straps that hold the bag on the mast are reinforced with a little hovercraft skirt material. This lets me slip then through a shoulder strap without the webbing bunching up.
We went walking on our local lake a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, come now. A bit of ice & snow should not mean putting your Cat away for 4 months.
An undocumented bonus is how easy it will be to right.

It got me thinking about building an ice boat. The ice was 4-5" and no snow.

I'm speechless with 4-5" of ice on the lake... We are still racing every Saturday and have a MidWinders February 26th...
