When the fabric around the main bolt rope starts to look a little wrinkled, is that the bolt rope stretching? Is there anything to be concerned about other than the sail being a little harder to raise? I can deal with that.

It's not a bad idea to add a quick spray of McLube Sailkote to keep the sails moving smoothly into the mast. Less abrasion means a longer time before needing a bolt rope repair or replacement. Some wrinkling is probably unavoidable, especially with Dacron.
