Many years ago, maybe the early 1980s, I saw some boats on the beach in the Tampa, St Pete area that had a metal strip along the bottom of the hulls. I think they were on Gcats if I remember correctly. Does anyone else remember them or have any pictures.
Thanking you in advance for any help.

I've owned two G-Cats that had stainless steel strips along the keels. They may have been at one time rental boats. They appeared to be 3/4 or 1/2 inch and were probably designed for rub rails and can be bought at West Marine. They were securely attached and bedded with what looked like Marine-Tex and never showed tendency to come loose. Not for the purist because of the extra few pounds but they really saved wear and tear when beaching. That's all I've got.
