New here, just got trap gear.Any advice on carpet? Is there anything better? What type of adhesive?
Also,I've been sailing my H14 for a year, finally getting off the tramp this season. From what I've read here and learned firsthand, balance is sorta critical on this boat.Any advice on trapeze and balance would be appreciated.I sail the shallow sounds of the Outer Banks and capsize/pitchpole frequently.Beats slowing down!
Carpet,Adhesives.

I dont have a lot of experience, however, I have learned a couple of things the hard way. You might need to start out towards the middle/front of the tramp as you go out on the wire. As the boat accelerates (quickly!) youll need to move to the back, as the hulls will pitch forward as the force of the water pushes the back of the hulls up. I didnt my first time, and pitchpoled. I was fine as i just ended up swinging clear into the jib. My buddy slammed the mast and main cleat on his way forward and got a huge bruise and scrape. Keep the knees slighly bent to accommodate for acceleration and decceleration and minor direction changes/waves. Just my two cents

for carpet glueing, normal contact cement/glue seems best
the yellowish stuff that is applied to both surfaces and then allowed to dry before both bits are pressed together works well for carpet and telltales on my boat -

if you don't mind the low boom, a little mast rake will go a long way in keeping the bow up.(ypu may have to adjust rudders accordingly) after a little time you will get used to the balance but a 14 is so light that it takes very little to upset the balance find your range and make small corrections till you find your sweet spots then commit to memory..:)
