Hi All:
I just got a 83 Hobie and the sails have been repaired with duck tape along the batten pockets. I peeled off the silver portion of the tape but the adhesive is still stuck to the sail material. I do not want to use a solvent on it for fear of ruining the sail material. I wish to prepare the sail before sending it to the shop for repairs so that it cuts down on the time and cost. Does anyone have any ideas how to remove this adhesive? Your help is much appreciated.

Try using WD-40, it will remove most sticky stuff and is very mild.
