Hobie 18 Wing Supports

Construction pictures of an easy to build wing support for Hobie magnum and SX wings for trailoring. Parts are standard 1 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe and fittings available at any hardware store. You'll need some kind of saw (anything you have will cut PVC) to cut the PVC pipe, but that's the only tool required. Most big hardware stores sell the PVC pipe in 5 foot lengths, but you may have to buy 10 foot. Don't worry, at the place I bought mine 5 foot was $2.89 and 10 foot was $3.39!

Notice that the Tee fittings that support the wings are turned differently for the Magnum and SX versions. The different construction of the two wings means that the magnum version tee lines up with the front beam, and the SX version tee lines up with the wing seat.
