Windrider 17 Trimaran

If you are looking at buying a Windrider 17, this album will be helpful in illustrating what the boat looks like, how it is layed out and rigged. There are 4 different boats in the photos, a blue, a green, and two different white boats. One of the white boats (Pic #3990 thru 4030) is rigged with a Hooter/Screacher and is not factory rigged. The Windrider is a friendly boat that is well received as rental fleets for condominiums and resorts, making it a favorable rig to let someone who does not have much sailing experience go out on. It incorporates a skeg rudder design, elliminating any problems with high aspect retractable rudders. There are no boards at all. The performance is what you would expect from a rental designed rig. The Windrider does not point to weather very well, and in strong wind the leward ama will bury, effectively stalling the boats motion, which is a good thing for the inexperienced.
