I made templates with foam core and fiberglass cloth, one to fit inside the void, the other as backing inside the hull

4-Foam
I changed my mind on the foamcore and added some blueboard covered with mylar. I pushed the white beadboard flotation blocks up against the mylar covered blueboard and placed a weight on it to hold it in place.
