This is the inboard side of the starboard hull rear beam. There was an old repair in this area where the glassed in nut had broken the glass in this area. I am now adding more reinforcement to the front and lower outboard side. In the original repair I did not grind the gelcoat completely away, just coarse sanded it. That repair has lasted a long time, but I think that repair was also responsible for the crack I found at the bottom of the beam cradle. By over building the cradle I think I forced the beam into too tight a space. This time I intend to make very certain all of the cradles fit the beams perfectly and will bed the beams into some thickened epoxy and then press the beam into the cradle and force the epoxy to extrude into any cavities. I want the forces from the beam to be carried by the entire cradle surface.
