macgregor 36
Photo of a MacGregor 36... probably one of the last to be taken. He was returning from the Bahamas on a late December night, in 40 foot seas (but that wasn't the problem).
One of his passengers, probably sea sick to start, went into an epileptic coma. The owner couldn't lower the sail, it was stuck, sea-tow couldn't tow him in with the sails up in the high winds, so he opted to ditch the boat on the beach. He lives here. Had the EMT's meet him on the beach. The friend is fine. The boat is totaled. It began life as Macgregor 36 catamaran. He had added 6 feet to the waterline,
and done a lot of custom work, but has no regrets about his decision. A sad thing. The boat made it ashore fine, but the waves took their tool, and caved in the starboard hull.
