Slide the sandwich onto the axle. This is the trickiest part of the entire operation. If you get it this far, then invert the assembly, I guarantee the races will separate enough for a bearing(s)to fall out of the cage, & the bearing assembly will sit lopsided on the axle.
In hindsight it is easier to place shave cream on the bearings,(that will hold everything together) then sit the entire bearing assembly onto the inverted casing.(photo that shows how to replace a broken casing). Now invert the axle & gently slide it through the races. Replace retaining snap ring, & you're done.
Make sure the snap ring is FULLY engaged into the groove, OR IT WILL PROBABLY COME OFF. If it is fully engaged, it will spin freely on the groove, if not it will stick.
I neglected this step, once. As a kid I was in a hurry to rebuild my Can Am dirt bike, & never fully seated the ring on the wrist pin. It came out, & went into the only place it could, between the piston & cylinder. Not only did I lose the entire weekend, I had to buy new parts & bore the cylinder, again. Lesson learned.
